Middle Fork Salmon rafting trips with a live acoustic soundtrack
Experience the Middle For k of the Salmon River in the pristine Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness with world-class musicians. Idaho River Adventures combined everything that goes into our rafting trips with live music to make the experience that much more memorable. Artists from prior years include Bill and Jilian Nershi, Todd Sheaffer, Ross James, Andy Cabic, Johnny Irion, Brian Rashap, The Infamous Stringdusters, Hot Buttered Rum, the Larry Keel Experience, the Mother Hips, Jackie Greene, Nicki Bluhm, Scott Law, Cabinet, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen and others.
First and foremost these are magnificent trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon and just like all of our trips we will focus our days on providing you access to everything the Middle Fork and the surrounding canyon has to offer: World class fly fishing, soaking in natural hotsprings, hiking and exploring, visiting Native American and pioneer cultural sites, developing friendships and building a sense of community that can only be accomplished on a multi-day wilderness river trips. The musicians are along for this experience and are part of what makes our trips so special. Wonderful people spending time in a pristine setting with other wonderful people. The musical element of these trips is meant to be an addition, not the sole focus.
NO PHONES, NO CARS, NO WORRIES. JUST THE SWEET SOUNDS OF
ACOUSTIC MUSIC AND THE RIVER.
We can all purchase a ticket to see a polished show, something rehearsed and taken in from behind the rail. As lovers of live music, we get very few chances to see our favorite artist “create." That makes our Pickin’ On the Middle Fork trips so special. Over the course of 6 days we will inevitably have the opportunity to hear something never before heard, maybe the beginnings to a new tune, maybe re-learning an old classic, maybe a current favorite played a bit different. If music is a passion, these trips are for you.
Follow Idaho River Adventures on Facebook to stay in the loop on all the updates for the 2019 Pickin’ on the Middle Fork Series. We typically start working with interested musicians to find a suitable date in September of the preceding year. There are always scheduling issues involved and we have found most groups need until around the holidays, or even just after the first part of the year, to have their following summer sussed out to the point they are comfortable committing to a date.
