Idaho River Adventures operates under a Special Use Permit issued by the United States Forest Service, Salmon-Challis National Forest and a Special Use Permit issued by the Bureau of Land Management, Coeur d’Alene District, Cottonwood Field Office. Idaho River Adventures is licensed by the Idaho Outfitter and Guides Licensing Board and is an equal opportunity service provider and employer.

Idaho River Adventures provides an all inclusive, full service wilderness river vacation. Our goal is to make this trip as worry-free as possible, from the time you leave your house until you get back. We have a great understanding of the logistics and planning involved in completing a trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon and fully understand you might not. Let us take all of the planning off your plate so you can focus on enjoying the trip of a lifetime.

Below is a list of what is included in your trip fare. And please keep in mind Idaho River Adventures, being the boutique outfitter that we are, are completely able and willing to adjust most every aspect of your trip to best fit your needs, including customizing your logistics.

We supply all required camping items, including freshly laundered sleeping bags, 4 person tents for 2, and full-sized self-inflating sleeping pads. One large waterproof duffel bag and one medium sized duffel bag are provided to hold your personal items.

Warm showers with privacy screens are provided at every camp.

All safety items, including personal flotation devices, helmets, when necessary, and wetsuits, when weather and/or water temperature dictate.

Complete camp set up by the guides. Idaho River Adventures uses a special boat called a “sweep boat” that travels ahead of the main group each day. This boat transports the main camp downstream and sets up the entire camp while you enjoy your day. This includes setting up the tents, dining and kitchen area and off-loading the duffel bags. No need for you to work during this vacation.

Choice of craft to ride in, including paddle boats where you are part of a team paddling the boat downriver with the guide in the back steering, oar boats in which the guide rows from the middle and inflatable kayaks. We encourage our guests to try each type of craft over the course of the trip but never require you to do something you are not comfortable with.

All ground transportation from the Boise, Idaho, airport and back, is included. As far as we can tell, we are the only outfitter on the Middle Fork Salmon offering this. The price of the rooms in Stanley for the evening prior to your launch date and in Salmon for the evening the trip concludes are NOT covered in your fare.

All food, beginning with lunch on the first day to lunch on the last day, including a modest amount of beer and wine, is provided. And, of course, we provide an endless supply of drinking water, drink mixes and snacks.

In addition to being expert guides and storytellers, the staff at Idaho River Adventures are also riverside chefs. Each day you’ll be treated to a gourmet dinner prepared from scratch.
