Salmon River Rafting
Idaho River Adventures offers 4-day, 5-day, or 6-day, 60-mile, 80-mile, or 105-mile Salmon River rafting trips on the Lower Salmon River, Main Salmon River, and the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. From early Spring whitewater to later family-friendly low-water summer launches, Idaho River Adventures has a rafting trip for you to enjoy. Snowmelt-fed and free-flowing, the Salmon River’s Middle Fork is one of the first eight rivers protected under the Wild and Scenic River Act (1968). Since then, the Middle Fork of the Salmon River has remained unchanged by humans. The Main Salmon River, also known as “The River of No Return” was designated under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act in 1980, and the Lower Salmon River has been a Wild and Scenic study area since 1968. The Middle Fork and Main Salmon are both contained in the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area being designated as such with the passage of the Central Idaho Wilderness Act
of 1980.
Here are a few details about our Salmon river rafting! From the put-in sites of each respective river, Boundary Creek for Middle Fork trips, Corn Creek for Main Salmon trips, and Hammer Creek for Lower Salmon trips, we descend on average 15 feet per mile resulting in enjoyable to exciting whitewater. Along the way, we stop to explore historic sites, soak in natural hot springs, fish, laugh, relax, and take in the beauty that surrounds us. A large cargo boat, with all the trip gear, will be sent ahead each day, setting up tents, arranging camp, and starting dinner in preparation for your arrival. Between each camp, we will stop to explore points of interest and enjoy a delectable, freshly made riverside lunch. Once we arrive at our evening campsite, guides will help you get situated as they start preparing the evening’s meal.
